Svitolina stopped by Radwanska in Japan

KYIV, September 24 / Ukrinform./ Ukraine top seeded tennis player Elina Svitolina has failed to advance to the qurter-finals at the Toray Pan Pacific Open tournament in Tokyo, Japan, with a prize fund of $1 million.

In the second round, the 21-year-old from Kharkiv lost to the 26-year-old 7th seed Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland in one hour 12 minutes on Thursday - 4:6, 1:6, Ukrinform reports.

In the doubles opener Svitolina and Russian Daria Gavrilova were defeated by -Chinese and Ukrainian duo Y-Fan Xu and Olga Savchuk - (7:5, 2:6, 8:10), who in turn lost in the quarterfinals to 2nd seed Hao-Ching Chan and Zhang Yun-Chan (1: 6, 6:2, 8:10) on Thursday.
